About

Introduction

The CCBI Commission for Theology and Doctrine seeks to deepen an experience of Christ and His mission in Priests, Religious and the Lay Faithful who are part of a Synodal Church. It would, in particular, concern itself with the doctrinal and theological formation the lay faithful of the Latin Church in India. The Commission also undertakes the difficult task of vigilance, examining theological writings and detecting errors.


Goals of the Commission

  • Promotion of theological reflection, in collaboration with other bodies, on emerging challenges in the Church and in the society.

  • Study of ground realities of different social issues and challenges.

  • Seek to create an experiential understanding of a Synodal Church in the light of Vatican II and Post-Conciliar documents, and so contribute to a participatory, inclusive and witnessing Church.


3. Methods used for Formation

  • Animation of the Priests, Religious and Laity on socio-economic-political issues from the theological perspective through Symposia, Workshops and Courses in different regions and dioceses of India.

  • Follow-up Sessions.
